“We never imagined the changes our community, our country, and the world would be facing. But our stories connect us to this time, and also reach back to earlier times of change. We made it then, and we’ll make it now. And I think that’s why we feel it is important to tell these stories this month, even if we’re presenting them in a different format.” Says show creator Jules Corriere about this month's special performance of the StoryTown Radio Show. The stories this month come from people in the region who are front line workers, essential workers, and families quarantined at home but doing what they can to help. The program also features stories from past crises to learn from. Usually performed live in front of an audience at the International Storytelling Center, this time the cast performs from the safety of their own homes, recorded one by one in a series of monologues that are filled with moments of tension, challenge, and hope. All of the stories, past and present, all have this message: We are in this together, and together, we will come through it stronger and more committed to our future.
